VW Beetle Hot Wheels 40th Anniversary Edition

Like the Honda Racer car that we showed you earlier today (click here), VW’s special edition Beetle was created in order to celebrate Hot Wheels’ 40th anniversary. However, this time we’re talking about a life-size vehicle and not a die-cast, scale model. Available initially for the Mexican market where it is built, the VW Beetle Hot Wheels model will be produced in an ultra limited run of just 240 units.
Offered in a choice of two colors, red or blue, the special edition Beetle is distinguished on the outside by Hot Wheels-styled alloy rims, special decals, a rear spoiler and red mirrors. Inside, the Beetle features two-tone leather seats with red stitching, matching floor mats, aluminum sport pedals, and front headrests with an engraved Hot Wheels logo along with a special numbered plate. –Full image gallery after the jump

They say necessity is the mother of invention, but we doubt that’s the case with these fun-loving Frenchmen who decided to attach a little board on wheels on the rear tire of their Citroen Saxo. -Video after the jump

Feast For Your Eyes: Italian Tuning Show Babes

“My Special Car Show” is an automotive customisation exhibition that took place at Rimini Fiera in Italy from 28 to 30 March, 2008. As with all tuning salons, there was no shortage of babes at “My Special Car Show”. Luckily for us, our fellow blogger-buddies at Autoblog.it were kind enough to capture many of the babes on film so we can get a taste of what we missed out on. Did we mention that there were a lot of poles at the exhibition centre in Rimini? –Image gallery after the jump

Fiat Looking into Mexico to Build its U.S. Bound Alfa Romeos

In addition to searching for a possible partner to build its U.S. bound Alfa Romeo models, the Fiat Group is also looking into creating a new plant in Mexico that could supply both North and South America. Fiat desperately needs to find a solution to the weak dollar in order to start selling Alfa Romeos in the U.S. in late 2009. -Continued
Creating a factory in Mexico will not only solve Alfa Romeo’s problem but at the same time it will help Fiat cope with the growing demand in South America as the company needs more production for the region. Mexico’s strategic position is considered ideal as it will help balance Fiat’s needs in North and South America.
